Colin leads the firm's corporate, securities, and transactions practice. He counsels companies on formation, governance, financing (from first check through growth stage), and all the commercial relationships involved in scaling a business. He has participated in over 500 venture financings for founders across software, fintech, and life sciences, and has represented both buyers and sellers in M&A, real estate, and other complex transactions.

Colin built deep experience in venture finance and securities in the Palo Alto office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, after early years in structured finance and venture capital at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. He has held management roles with private equity funds, real estate investment firms, digital asset innovators, and clean-tech startups.

Colin obtained his JD from The University of Chicago Law School and graduated cum laude from Middlebury College. He is admitted to practice in New York and California. Colin is a Knight of the Order of Saint James, and speaks Russian and German fluently.

Monty leads the firm's commercial and regulatory practice, designing legal structures, business relationships, and strategies that help clients transform technological and regulatory change into competitive advantage. Founders rely on Monty to help fashion licensing regimes, business models, financial and regulatory ecosystems, and strategic business relationships. He also advises clients on investigations and the avoidance and resolution of disputes.

As an attorney in the DC offices of Gibson Dunn and Jones Day, and as a management consultant with McKinsey, Monty participated in antitrust review of over $200B in global M&A transactions. He also worked closely with Ted Olson and Mike Carvin on high-profile constitutional matters, including Bush v Gore.

Monty earned his JD with High Honors from The University of Chicago Law School and his BS in Physics with Honors from Harvey Mudd College. He clerked for Judge David B. Sentelle of the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit, and is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia and the Supreme Court of the United States. Monty serves as Chairman of the Board for the R Street Institute, a Washington, DC public-policy think tank.
